Great spot just outside of Munich. It was nice to get away from Oktoberfest, even if it was to have yet more beer. The food was delicious , so come prepared to eat! And if you get a spot overlooking the countryside , all the better. It gets busy, so go early.

A nice stop if you're driving on the way back to Munich from the south. Very nice and serene atmosphere around the place. Interesting that the monks actually did the brewing of beer decades ago. Come and have a pint of their own beer and eat along some crispy pork knuckles.

Great place but because of that it's usually crowded with both German as well as international tourists.
Beautiful view from the top, even better during sunset. We were lucky as they just started an organ play as we arrived.
The beer garden serves great Bavarian food and drinks, particularly good quality in my opinion. Yet there is not much lighting outside, so when we sat there at around 17.30 on a November day it was very dark so a little more lighting would be nice.

Beautifull place, monastery on hill itself and surroundings and of course the restaurant there is amazing I mean the food, to be more specific - knuckle. If you are there You must try it, it's the best knuckle in whole Germany! Together with the Andechs beer, potato salad and the pretzel it is the set you must buy! They have also very good cakes and coffee - if you will still have place.
